Books I Recommend:

A Brief History of Time is a book that shows the modern path of Shamanism in that it encompasses all aspects of universe and perception.

The Orgon Accumulator Handbook is an example of how the body can use its lifeforce energy to heal itself as well as showing how the energy fields of modern technology can be destructive to the human body.

The Holistic Herbal is great for the beginner of herbology. This book has simple diagrams of the internal human body and brief descriptions of the herbs and their functions.

Sweat Lodges (and how they can go wrong)

A Sweat Lodge isn’t just a ceremonial site; it’s a complex metaphysical tool that requires extensive training to use safely.

In a real apprenticeship like I had (minimum of eight years) running a Sweat Lodge was at the end of training because you were studying the different directional and energetic influences that can occur at all types of ceremonial sites for the previous seven years.

Fly by nighters that go through quick courses and go teach are disasters waiting to happen.

To understand the complexity of geomancy, sacred geometry or even feng shui we need to fully grasp the existence of energetic influences. A good example is to open your hands in front of you with your fingers extended. Now have your extended fingers of one hand slowly move them inside the extended fingers of the other hand. That’s how the tuning condenser of a radio works. The metal wafers move in and out of one another and condense the energy frequencies that are already there. Add an antenna, coil, diode and a set of headphones and you have the simplest form of radio that you can receive all kinds of information on. You simply move the wafers just a little and you pick up different radio stations that already exist and have their programming ready for you to listen to.

That was an example of geomancy.

There are all types of energy frequencies and signature constantly moving around that can be contained, condensed and manipulated. All of which can have their own influences on us.

A Sweat Lodge is a dome like structure normally framed with saplings and covered with blankets. Upon construction it is already making an equation with the energy signatures already there.

Let’s think about that part for a moment. What do you think the equation might entail if the Lodge was built over the location of a massacre? That location was programmed with some brutal energy signatures.

A simple example of energy programming is to put a magnet in the silverware drawer or around other ferrous objects overnight. You’ll find they are charged with magnetism. Another example is to walk into a beautiful home and get a bad feeling, only to discover horrible things had happened in that home.

We must also consider the directional influences. North is the house of knowledge. East is new beginnings. South is emotional/sensations. West is death and release.

Then there are the direction influences of personalities. Northeast is the house of chaos and the warrior. Southeast is the house of the healer. Southwest is the house of the dreamer and visionary. Northwest is the house of student and teacher.

The Lodge has a door with a path that leads to an altar and goes to the fire pit where the stones are heated. This follows a directional line.

So take a guess what could happen if someone wanted to build a Sweat Lodge for healings over land programmed with a traumatic signature with the door facing the Northeast with the altar and fire pit in the same direction? How about building that same Lodge with everything facing the West?

Now let’s think of every person that goes into that Lodge as a hard drive sharing the same mainframe. The manic depressant sits in the West, the control freak sits in the Northeast, the sex offender (no one knows) sits in the Northwest, the narcissist sits in the Southwest, a CEO that just got downsized sits in the Southeast, the person that just went though a bad divorce sits in the South, the person who is allegedly qualified to run the Lodge sits in the North and no one sits in the East. Sounds like a 911 call will be in order.

There are astrological influences. Would you buy a new car with Mercury retrograde or sign a contract on a void of course moon? Of course not and it would be insane to be involved with bad geomancy with a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction on your mid heaven.

Most of the healing work I’ve done was helping people who suffered the effects of badly constructed ceremonial sites. These were people who trusted the facilitators to guide them through a life changing process.

We recently heard of a Sweat Lodge that went very wrong in Arizona. I wonder what questions were being asked about that. What was overlooked at a ceremonial outing that was bringing in up to $500,000 a week?

When I was running Sweat Lodges I required people new to me to go through a two hour class on basic energy work and geomancy, for free. This gave them the information they needed to know what they were getting into as well as being able to read other ceremonial sites the may visit in the future. They were also informed about the signs of heat exhaustion and how to treat it.

I also interviewed every person before and after the Lodge. I needed to know their health history as well as the things going on in their life that could affect them emotionally. I was the one who arranged the seating in the Lodge. Everyone was free to leave if they felt bad (it is very hot and humid), all I required was they sat just outside the door and sipped water under the watchful eye of another person who was part of my group. One of my regulars was a registered nurse. My oldest daughter was also a regular at my Lodges and now a paramedic.

I’ve never had an emergency situation at a Sweat Lodge or any other geomantic site. Life has no shortage of bad times. There’s no need to provide opportunities for more.

This just covers the very basic energy flow of geomancy. It’s an energy principle that commands respect. Geomancy is an “all or nothing” discipline, not to be pieced out for convenience.

Feel free to write in any questions to blueplanetshaman@yahoo.com about ceremonies or sites you want to have or visit. I’ll answer you as soon as possible.
