Books I Recommend:

A Brief History of Time is a book that shows the modern path of Shamanism in that it encompasses all aspects of universe and perception.

The Orgon Accumulator Handbook is an example of how the body can use its lifeforce energy to heal itself as well as showing how the energy fields of modern technology can be destructive to the human body.

The Holistic Herbal is great for the beginner of herbology. This book has simple diagrams of the internal human body and brief descriptions of the herbs and their functions.

Books I Recommend

These are some books that I personally own and have used at different metaphysical projects such as healing centers, ceremonial sites and facilities where I gave lectures, workshops and classes. I find these books to be excellent for the beginners as well as informative and detailed for the intermediary and advanced classes.

A Country Harvest has excellent illustrations, easy to read and very informative.

Culpeper’s Color Herbal has passages in Old English of the medicinal virtues as well as Modern English for modern uses and something that you won’t see in many herbal books: which is the astrological aspects of the herb (i.e. Dandelion is under the dominion of Jupiter; Hyssop is Jupiter’s herb and in the sign of Cancer). The book gives brief descriptions of the herb which makes great, quick reference.

Organon of Medicine by Samuel Hahnemann, the father of homeopathy, is a book of notes and excerpts of his view of medicine in a sense of energy.

Agriculture by Rudolph Steiner is a book that details the energetics and applied (“scientific” ceremonies) of agriculture. For example one Steiner practice is pest control: placing the ashes of rabbits around your garden has been seen as an effective method to keep the living rabbits out of your garden. While this book is a series of lectures from 1924 it has valuable information still not utilized to its fullest potential today.

Prescription for Nutritional Healing is a good book to have in every home as your basic “how-to” manual for health.

The Complete Book of Homeopathy is a good beginner’s guide to understanding homeopathy. The layout helps the beginner understand the process of identifying symptoms and the search for the cure. This is an excellent book for young parents who have valid apprehensions to Western medicine and are looking for alternatives. When my children were young I found homeopathy to very effective and saved valuable time and hard earned money by treating my children at home.

Homeopathic Medicine at Home is a great follow-up to the Complete Book of Homeopathy. It details preventions of simple ailments such as colds, coughs and earaches. An interesting passage about antacids are anti-health which leads into another explanation of stomach and bowel problems.

Help Your Child with Homeopathy is a small manual listing symptoms, cures and applications; another excellent and informative book for the beginner and young parent.

I appreciated the creative writing aspect of Ishmael, which is a metaphysical/new age classic.
